Minebea Intec gets new CEO

Minebea Intec, one of the world's leading manufacturers of weighing and inspection technologies, is on an expansion course after a very successful business year. In order to be optimally positioned for this, Dr. Karl Sommer is taking over the position of CEO at Minebea Intec with effect from 12.04.2023. In addition, Peter Grimley will assume the duties of Chief Project Officer (CPO) and Munetaka Nakazawa the duties of Chief Operation Officer (COO). With the new C-level structure, Minebea Intec aims to position itself even more efficiently in the future and thus enable itself to respond optimally to the requirements of the dynamic market environment. To this end, the company relies on smart and locally adapted weighing and inspection solutions that ensure increased efficiency in production as well as the highest product quality. "Our clear goal is to continue our successful growth course with our great team in the coming years," says Dr. Sommer. Dr. Sommer emphasizes that Minebea Intec differentiates itself from competing product and solution offerings by providing the highest quality weighing and inspection solutions in the industry. From incoming goods to outgoing goods, the company is there to assist its clientele with all their questions and individual requirements, he said. "The DNA and agility of a German medium-sized company combined with the strengths of being part of the MinebeaMitsumi Group give us a clear competitive advantage," says Dr. Sommer. Dr. Sommer joined the company in 2020 and has since served as COO at Minebea Intec. Previously, Dr. Sommer worked at private equity investor Aurelius Group as a member of the operations practice.
With Peter Grimley as CPO and Munetaka Nakazawa as COO, and a team of over 1000 employees worldwide, Minebea Intec's management team aims for further growth. Peter Grimley brings over 30 years of experience in the industrial weighing and inspection industry and will strategically drive the business development, product management and marketing divisions. With Munetaka Nakazawa as COO, Minebea Intec will intensify cooperation with the MinebeaMitsumi Group and increase its production capacity worldwide by leveraging valuable synergies. "In the past fiscal year, we recorded another record in order intake and were again able to significantly increase our sales compared to the already very successful previous year," said Dr. Sommer. "The many global crises of recent years have once again highlighted the fact that efficiency, accuracy and resource conservation in industrial manufacturing processes, as well as the localization of value-added processes, are more important today than ever before. Minebea Intec is optimally positioned as a group of companies to support its customers in this globally and with best-in-class solutions." The Minebea Intec C-Level is completed by CFO Manina Kettler, CTO Axel Boettger and CSO Nick Parsons, all of whom have many years of experience at Minebea Intec and will continue to be responsible for their functional areas.
