Which technologies and market trends are influencing the thermal coating technology industry? This question will be the focus of the upcoming ITSC - International Thermal Spray Conference and Exposition in Bangkok/Thailand in March 2026.

The ITSC from March 18 to 20, 2026 will be held under the motto "Engineered for Excellence - Smart Coatings for a Smart World" and offers an international platform for professional exchange. For almost 30 years, ITSC has been the world's leading event for users, researchers, service providers and manufacturers of thermal coating technology. With over 250 technical papers, it offers a comprehensive insight into current and future developments in thermal spraying, build-up welding and related technologies. In addition to the well-known coating processes, laser and plasma-based cladding technologies are increasingly coming into focus. Driven by the energy and mobility transition, the importance of modern coating systems is constantly growing. "Every year, the ITSC is the place where all these developments come together - in a compact and practical way. Participants can find out about the future of thermal coating and discuss how they can bring modern coating processes into widespread industrial use," emphasizes Dipl.-Ing. Jens Jerzembeck, Head of the Research and Technology Department at DVS - German Welding Society and member of the ITSC Program Commission.

International exchange on thermal cladding

ITSC 2026 offers numerous opportunities for networking and cooperation. From special networking events, the accompanying exhibition, the exhibitor evening to the banquet evening, participants can expand their professional network and build business relationships with more than 1,000 professionals in the thermal coating industry. With three special event formats, the program focuses on application-oriented presentations, basic knowledge and the promotion of young scientists: Industrial Forum: This format offers presentations from the field and application-oriented insights from the industry; Thermal Spray in a Nutshell: a compact introduction to the basics and applications - ideal for anyone new to thermal spraying and laser cladding; and Young Professionals Session: up-and-coming talents present their research in short talks. The audience will select the winner of the "Young Professional Award" live.
