Henkel has successfully completed the acquisition of the Dutch company Stahl Group, a global supplier of high-performance specialty coatings for flexible materials. Stahl has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Henkel since October 1, 2026.

Stahl supplies leading global brands in the mobility, fashion & lifestyle, luxury goods, and packaging markets. Its portfolio includes leather finish coatings, performance coatings, and high-performance coatings for paper packaging, which enable unique product properties and a high-quality consumer experience. Stahl employs approximately 1,800 people and generated adjusted revenue of approximately 725 million euros in fiscal year 2025. “The successful completion of the acquisition of Stahl represents another important milestone in the implementation of our strategic agenda for holistic growth and the strengthening of our Adhesive Technologies business unit. By entering the attractive adjacent category of specialty coatings, we are tapping into additional growth opportunities and expanding our technology portfolio with product offerings for both existing and new end markets. Together with the acquisitions of ATP Adhesive Systems and Wetherby Laroc, we have successfully completed three transactions in the Adhesive Technologies business unit this year. “This increases total sales in our industrial business by approximately one billion euros and lays the foundation for further profitable growth,” said Henkel CEO Carsten Knobel.

Stahl as a Strategic Complement to Henkel’s Business

“Stahl’s knowledge-based and service-oriented business model—which requires little capital while offering high expertise in customer-specific solutions and a strong focus on sustainability—is an excellent strategic complement to our business. Combining these leading capabilities in specialty coatings with Henkel’s global expertise in adhesive technologies creates a comprehensive solutions platform that will help our customers accelerate innovation and achieve their sustainability goals more quickly. “We are very pleased to welcome our new colleagues to the Adhesive Technologies team and to work together to unlock new business opportunities,” said Mark Dorn, Member of the Henkel Executive Board responsible for the Adhesive Technologies business unit.
