The winners of the FiT2clean Award 2025 innovation prize were presented at the Parts2clean trade fair on October 9. Bo-Inno GmbH secured first place with a smart data tracker that measures and stores relevant parameters in the cleaning process.

The FiT2clean Award is presented annually by the German Industrial Parts Cleaning Association (FiT) in recognition of innovations that solve challenges in industrial parts cleaning in a pioneering way. The three finalists presented themselves on the third day of the trade fair at Parts2clean 2025, with Bo-Inno GmbH securing first place with its smart data tracker. It was followed by the solutions from Nägele Mechanik GmbH and Safechem Europe GmbH.

FiT2clean Award winner with smart data tracker

Bo-Inno won this year's FiT2clean Award with its smart data tracker, which enables the objective, repeatable and location-based recording and storage of key process parameters. The compact, robust and heat-resistant device runs through the cleaning process together with the components. The data logger continuously measures and saves the temperature, time, movement profile and ultrasound intensity parameters. Once cleaning is complete, the recorded data is transferred to a PC so that further cleaning cycles can be recorded and compared directly with stored data using the software. Deviations in temperature, movement and ultrasonic intensity are automatically displayed. Irregularities, wear and defects in the cleaning system can therefore be detected and rectified at an early stage.

Second and third place for testing system and testing device

Nägele Mechanik GmbH took second place with a new testing system that carries out fully automatic checks for residual particulate contamination in accordance with VDA 19.1. The steps of particle extraction, filtration and microscopy are integrated into the system. After manual insertion of the component and selection of the test program, extraction/cleaning takes place in a closed chamber using spray nozzles or ultrasound, whereby the medium is continuously extracted and filtered. The captured particles are measured on the wet filter. By combining reflected light and transmitted light microscopy, not only sufficiently dark and metallic particles, but also practically all low-contrast particles and fibers are detected and measured. Third place went to Safechem Europe GmbH for the development of an automated, digitally networked testing device for monitoring solvent quality. Using integrated sensor technology, the system automatically measures all key parameters, including acid number, alkalinity and acid absorption capacity, for various solvents such as modified alcohols and perchloroethylene. The FiT2clean Award, endowed with 10,000 euros, has been presented annually since 2022.
