Fanuc will be presenting innovative solutions for painting and coating processes at Paint Expo 2026. Visitors will learn how their painting processes can be made more efficient, reproducible and of higher quality through automation - from constant process parameters to consistently high surface quality.

Fanuc's trade fair appearance at PaintExpo 2026 will focus on applications that meet the typical requirements of modern painting technology: constant path guidance and speed, stable process parameters and the avoidance of overspray and rework. A Fanuc P-250iB/15 painting robot will be demonstrating the efficient painting of a screened product live on the stand. Thanks to Hollow Wrist technology, media guides such as cables and media hoses can be protected and integrated without collision in a reliable process. The payload of the P-250iB/15 is up to 15 kg. In addition, the CRX-10iA/L Paint collaborative lightweight robot demonstrates the coating of a motorcycle helmet. The ATEX-certified cobot is designed for collaboration with humans and supports flexible cell concepts; the maximum payload is 10kg.

New painting robot model from Fanuc

A special highlight is Fanuc's latest painting robot model P-55/15-21A, a pre-series model of which will be on display in Europe for the first time. With a reach of more than two meters, the P-55/15-21A enables the painting of larger components and at the same time offers high path accuracy for an excellent finish. For greater efficiency and reduced maintenance, the explosion-proof control system has been redesigned and the number of components reduced - so that all functions can be accommodated in a single control cabinet. Battery-free encoders also reduce maintenance costs and support resource-saving production. The market launch of the P-55/15-21A in Europe is planned for the current year.

Painting robots help with automation

Fanuc is the world's leading robot manufacturer with the largest portfolio of painting robots and coating applications for industry and many other applications. The company also acts as a system integrator in the field of surface technology. One current example is the Deutsche Bahn maintenance plant currently under construction in Cottbus, where Fanuc is working with cabin technology specialist SLF Oberflächentechnik GmbH to supply a fully automated painting line for ICE train carriages. Fanuc itself operates a large paint lab in Neuhausen near Stuttgart, where customer applications can be tested and implemented. "Automation not only helps companies to counter the shortage of skilled workers, but also offers advantages in terms of quality, availability and sustainability," says Jan Kamenicky, Head of Painting at Fanuc Europe. "This longevity, combined with energy-efficient operation, maintenance-friendly design and unlimited Fanuc service, makes us an ideal partner for companies that rely on sustainable and resource-saving production."
