The year 2026 will be a very special one for Denios SE from Bad Oeynhausen: the global market leader for hazardous substance storage and occupational safety is celebrating its 40th birthday.

For four decades, the family-owned company Denios has focused on innovation, responsibility and commitment to safety and environmental protection. What began in 1986 as an engineering idea with the first drip tray is now a globally active company that ensures greater safety in many countries around the world - with over 25,000 products and customized solutions for handling hazardous substances. "For us, safety is always more than just complying with regulations. We think ahead - and that still drives us today," explains Managing Director (CSO) Horst Rose. "This year, we look back on 40 years of experience with a great deal of pride and at the same time look to the future with confidence."

Denios becomes a leading provider of security solutions

It was 1986 when company founder Helmut Dennig came up with the idea for the first drip tray - and thus gave the starting signal for a company that is now one of the world's leading providers of safety solutions. Back then still based in neighboring Porta Westfalica, Denios moved to Bad Oeynhausen in 1987, laying the foundations for today's headquarters. The company started thinking globally early on and expanded in 1990 with its first location in the USA. Denios grew step by step - not only geographically, but also in the diversity of its products and services. From drip pans to complex hazardous substance storage systems and innovative safety solutions for industry: Denios has constantly evolved and set new standards. However, Denios is not just looking to the past, but has a clear goal in mind with its Vision Zero: a world without harm to people and the environment. For Denios, safety goes beyond what is required by law. It is about an attitude, a responsibility that has characterized the company from the very beginning. "Vision Zero is our clear mission: we offer solutions that go beyond the standard - from the initial analysis to ongoing optimization," says Horst Rose.

Digital hazardous substance solutions from Denios

Denios moves with the times - and often a little further too. With innovative digital solutions such as SpillGuard Connect and the Denios connect IoT platform, the company ensures that hazardous materials warehouses can be monitored in real time. These solutions are not only safe, but also smart - and enable companies to identify and avoid potential risks at an early stage. "We never stop improving," explains Horst Rose. "Our digital solutions are an essential part of our Vision Zero. We want to continuously develop the standard for safety and environmental protection and help our customers to work even more safely." After 40 years on the market, Denios is not just a company, but a global player with six production sites and a network in more than 20 countries. The range includes everything that companies need for the safe handling of hazardous substances - and it is also tailor-made. "Our Vision Zero is not an empty promise, but a clear plan," explains Horst Rose. "We don't just offer products, but solutions - these help companies worldwide to raise their safety standards and actively avoid risks."
