The next generation of the field-proven HydroForm scanner from Evident enables corrosion imaging with displacement transducers on two axes. It is easy to use and optimized for one-person operation.

Evident's improved HydroForm scanner with innovative ScanDeck module and an integrated index axis displacement encoder facilitates and increases the efficiency of phased array (PA) inspection. Thanks to an improved water pre-stretch system and mechanism against air bubble formation, the scanner is suitable for many inspection applications. When combined with an OmniScan X3 test set, the ScanDeck module provides important feedback and remote control command functions that minimize test set operation. Status lights located directly in the operator's field of view indicate during the test which displacement encoder is active (on the index or scan axis), when the optimum test position has been reached, whether the coupling is sufficient, and whether the maximum test speed has been exceeded. It also allows the HydroForm scanner operator to remotely initiate test data acquisition on the OmniScan device. This information and remote control capability not only shortens time-consuming tasks, but also improves the quality and reliability of the acquired PA data.

The Evident HydroForm scanner with the optional integrated index axis displacement encoder facilitates grid inspection and provides a complete solution for corrosion imaging on two axes without the need for an additional scanner. Smooth rolling magnetic wheels and an improved anti-air bubble mechanism expand the HydroForm scanner's capabilities for vertical and inverted inspection applications, such as tank wall corrosion monitoring. To ensure reliable PA signals, the unique HydroForm water pre-stretch system has also been optimized. To improve wear and temperature resistance, seal protection is now included to extend the durability of foam seals that conform to the surface and maintain coupling. The enhanced HydroForm Scanner is a comprehensive 2D corrosion imaging solution that allows an inspector to efficiently inspect flat parts and tubing with an outside diameter of 4 inches and larger. It is highly versatile and can be used as a manual scanner with an external clock, as a guided scanner with displacement encoders on two axes, or as a mounted scanner on compatible semi-automated and automated auxiliary scanners for complex, large-area and remote inspections.
