BIA Kunststoff- und Galvanotechnik sets the course for the future with two new managing directors in October 2025. Dr. Felix Heinzler (41) and Jonas Püttbach (31) represent the younger generation.

Dr. Heinzler, who has been Head of Development and Process Technology at BIA for eleven years, will be responsible for purchasing, sales and project management in addition to development and process technology. Dr. Heinzler, who holds a doctorate in mechanical and plant engineering, believes that the BIA Group is well positioned despite the current challenges in the automotive market and the complex economic situation. "We have excellent colleagues in various positions who have grown with the company. Our current customers value this expertise and motivation and this will open up new opportunities for us in the future, even outside the automotive industry. I look forward to playing a part in this further development of BIA." Owner and Managing Director Jörg Püttbach emphasized at the announcement of the new BIA management: "Especially in difficult times, it is important that there is clarity regarding the management of the company. With Dr. Heinzler and my son Jonas, we are initiating the generational change and showing that the owner family is firmly committed to the company. This is an important signal both internally and externally. I am very grateful to both of them for being prepared to take on responsibility right now."

Automation and new business areas for BIA

Being open to new ideas and requirements in order to be able to offer quick and flexible solutions for new markets is becoming increasingly important for the BIA Group, which has sites in Solingen, Slovakia, Mexico and China. Jonas Püttbach, until recently plant manager of the BIA plant in Mexico, will use his experience from Mexico and Slovakia and his electroplating background as managing director in the area of production in Solingen and the support of the plants. "In production, we will continue to focus on automation in order to become more efficient. I am looking forward to continuing the family business and want to show with my entry that I firmly believe that BIA can survive these difficult times," says Jonas Püttbach. Dr. Heinzler and Jonas Püttbach agree that BIA will have to assert itself in the automotive sector and also tap into new business areas. "Looking at the industry, it is clear that we are the company that will master these changes. Because our team makes the difference."
