BFS General Meeting: Board confirmed for a further term of office
The Federal Paint and Property Protection Committee (BFS) met for its annual general meeting in Witten on November 20, 2025. At this meeting, the President and Board were re-elected for a further three-year term of office.
The 20 or so participants at the BFS General Meeting voted unanimously in favor of extending the term of office of President Michael Eichler and Board members Thomas Eßer (MEG) and Franz Xaver Neuer (DAW) for a further three years. They thus confirmed the Board's course for the direction of the technical-scientific body of the Bundesverband Farbe Gestaltung Bautenschutz. The event was hosted by BFS member company Ardex. the generally recognized rules of technology (aaRT) are at the heart of the BFS's work. They define standards for coating, plastering, insulation, corrosion protection and maintenance work in German-speaking countries. The technical rules thus ensure that all work can be carried out and assessed in a technically uniform and professional manner. At its members' meeting, the BFS presented the results of the last twelve months, including the publication of five new technical rules (No. 2, No. 19, No. 20.1, No. 24, No. 25). Both the Maler App, in which the technical rules appear digitally, and the print versions of the technical rules met with great interest last year. In addition, the BFS recorded a moderate increase in membership and further improved its public image.
"The members of the BFS, the coordination committee and those responsible for the respective technical rules do a great job and provide important impetus for our creative trade," explained BFS President Michael Eichler. "This commitment ensures that our set of rules is widely recognized by painting, varnishing and plastering companies, architects, planners, experts, trade and industry." The members' meeting concluded with a presentation by lawyer Wolfgang Reinders, who gave a legal explanation of the application of the generally recognized rules of technology using practical examples.
