BASF Coatings Refinity: Digital color solutions for vehicle workshops

BASF Coatings combines digital business solutions for the automotive refinish industry in the cloud-based platform Refinity. New additional functions expand the possibilities for workshops in the automotive refinish sector: With the new Spectrophotometer ScanR, Refinity uses the next generation of color scanning technology. This device is the fastest and most accurate color matching solution, ensuring flawless results in terms of precision and reliability in color measurement technology. ScanR takes five precise measurements in just 30 seconds and automatically recognizes the vehicle identification number (VIN) and license plate number, minimizing errors and saving time. It also features scratch detection and provides access to the industry's largest color database for accurate color recognition and perfect matching.

New features for Refinity from BASF Coatings

The redesigned ImagePlus feature is fully compatible with previous generations of spectrophotometers, giving workshops maximum flexibility. It helps workshop managers and painters speed up the color identification process with improved intuitive visualization and accuracy. On-screen color selection visualization eliminates the need for complex data interpretation, while real-time comparisons reduce spray sampling and increase efficiency. Spectral curve analysis and precise detection of effect particles and coarseness further refine results, ensuring perfect color matching with minimal material loss. Combined with the fully automatic Alfa CR4/6 mixing machine, the digital color process is particularly fast and precise and can perform up to six mixes simultaneously. This efficiency not only optimizes the workshop's workflow, but also minimizes waste and reinforces BASF's commitment to helping its customers achieve their individual sustainability goals.
