RAL Trendbox 2025+ wins gold at the German Design Award 2024

The RAL Trendbox 2025+ material collection as a counterpart to the color trend report is awarded the highest prize of the German Design Awards in the "Excellent Product Design" category in the "Material and Surfaces" section.
The interdisciplinary jury of the German Design Award, made up of international design experts, confirms the excellent, holistic and innovative design performance of the RAL Trendbox 2025+. Every year, the German Design Council awards the prize to exceptional submissions in product design, communication design and architecture in various categories. The award is considered one of the most prestigious design awards in Germany and internationally across all sectors. The RAL Trendbox 2025+ translates the 15-part trend color palette of the RAL Colour Feeling 2025+ into a total of 5 design-relevant materials. In addition to the standardized RAL single colour samples, the box also contains plastic colour samples, powder-coated metal, carpet samples and textile samples. The associated color trend report Colour Feeling 2025+ stands for contemporary architecture and design. The color palette responds to current themes, motivates change, supports project-oriented design and helps to build resonant relationships with the environment.
Among other things, the jury statement reads: 'The RAL Trendbox 2025+ impresses with its careful selection of colors and variety of materials. The selection of 15 colors from the RAL palette has been perfectly coordinated and translated into 5 different materials and surfaces. The Trendbox invites designers to experiment with colors and materials and to develop future-oriented design concepts. The trend report on which this product is based provides a color profile of high relevance for both the present and the future, leading to the creation of long-lasting room and design solutions. The intensive research work and trend forecasts that have gone into the development of the Trendbox are evidence of a deep engagement with the subject of color and design. "We are delighted to have won the German Design Award once again. The highest award - gold - underlines the uniqueness, the well thought-out design of the box and the power of cooperation. With the RAL Trendbox 2025+ and the accompanying trend report, we are providing designers from various disciplines with a tool that makes holistic and sustainable design easy to achieve. Special thanks go to our cooperation and material partners, without whom the project would not have been possible: the Institute International Trendscouting at HAWK Hildesheim, Covestro, Object Carpet, Gabriel and Tiger Coatings," says Markus Frentrop, Head of RAL Colors.
