Eckart with new mineral oil-free metallic offset inks

Eckert presents new sustainable mineral oil-free gold and silver offset inks that comply with the new French regulation. They offer maximum brilliance even at fast printing speeds.
In view of the ever-increasing regulatory requirements for printing inks, Eckart is already focusing on mineral oil-free offset printing inks and completely dispensing with printing inks containing mineral oil. This switch ensures that the new French regulation, which came into force in January 2025, is implemented. It sets the strictest limits for the mineral oil content of all imported packaging products. In order to meet these strict criteria, the entire offset printing ink production at Eckart was completely cleaned with professional support. Only plant-based oils and fatty acid esters are used in the new generation of gold and silver printing inks. At the same time, the sustainable printing inks have the same high quality and brilliance as conventional, mineral oil-based inks.
The products in the Metalstar Eco 14 series are versatile and suitable for all conventional offset printing projects. The products in the Metalstar SuperEco 14 series are characterized by their exceptional metallic gloss and have been specially developed for high printing speeds. The Topstar SuperEco 16 range includes products based on ultra-thin VMP pigments that can be used to achieve anything from highly brilliant polychromatic effects to mirror-like effects that can be used as an alternative to film applications. Yvonne Plitzko, Head of Technical & Research Services, explains: "All three product series are in no way inferior to their mineral oil-based predecessors in technical terms either. Excellent printability as well as ink-water balance and brilliance have been confirmed by external printing tests."
