At a festive inauguration on October 11, 2023, the new Bürkert building complex in Taicang Port in the east of the People's Republic of China was officially opened. With the new building, Bürkert Fluid Control Systems strengthens its position in the Asian region.

Already at the beginning of the year, a new plant of the international fluidics specialist Bürkert was completed in the Chinese city of Taicang Port. A modern building complex was created on around 40,000 square meters, which is home to a production, technology and logistics center as well as an administrative unit and a training center. After a construction period of around 18 months, employees were able to move into the first premises as early as the end of 2022. "The goal was to create an agile and versatile Bürkert site for system development, production, assembly, modern logistics, and training and education that meets the requirements for sustainability and energy efficiency," summarizes Harald Schmidt, General Manager Bürkert China. A total of 400 employees now work in Taicang Port in the areas of material requirements planning, production, quality assurance, research and development as well as in purchasing, finance and human resources. During the official inauguration on October 11, 2023 by the Bürkert management, Bürkert CEO Georg Stawowy once again emphasized the importance of the construction in Taicang Port: "The past three years have shown that economic cycles, political and regulatory requirements as well as the availability of materials and personnel will change ever faster. There is widespread talk of decoupling supply chains. For us, it's clear we need to get closer and closer to our customers to respond more quickly to changing customer expectations."

The new building is not only paying off for Bürkert from an economic perspective. The issue of sustainability also played a significant role in the investment, which led to the building being certified with the internationally recognized LEED system. LEED stands for "Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design," and is an award for companies that are leaders in energy issues and environmental design. As with all of Bürkert's new buildings, the Taicang Port project was designed to be as sustainable as possible. Due to its proximity to the booming metropolis of Shanghai with its excellent universities and schools, the existing site in Suzhou will increasingly be used as an engineering center. With the construction in Taicang Port, Bürkert is further expanding its position on the Asian market and will be able to work there even better in the future together with partners and customers true to the motto "We make ideas flow." Making ideas flow.
