Vollert Anlagenbau GmbH in Weinsberg near Heilbronn filed for insolvency at Heilbronn Local Court on Friday, July 18, 2025. Marc-Philippe Hornung from the law firm SZA Schilling, Zutt & Anschütz in Mannheim was appointed as the provisional insolvency administrator.

Vollert Anlagenbau develops turnkey intralogistics concepts for the aluminum and metal industry, systems for precast concrete production and shunting systems. The range of services includes solutions such as fully automated high-bay racking systems, material flow systems for aluminum extrusion manufacturers, the world's most powerful storage and retrieval machines for storing sheet metal blanks or automatic crane systems for 50 tons and more, automated systems for the production of concrete elements and shunting systems for moving railroad wagons and trains. In surface technology, Vollert is known for its conveyor systems for paint stores. Vollert's plant and machine solutions are in use in over 80 countries around the world.

Weak demand as the reason for Vollert's insolvency

The main reason for the company's difficulties is the weak global demand over the last 18 months in all sectors in which Vollert operates, particularly in the precast concrete industry. In addition, a major project for a customer in the steel industry had to be completed at a loss due to unforeseeable difficulties. The business operations of Vollert Anlagenbau GmbH continue without restriction. Employees' wages and salaries are secured for three months through the insolvency substitute benefits paid by the Federal Employment Agency.

Vollert Anlagenbau seeks solutions with insolvency administrator

"I informed the workforce about the situation immediately after filing for insolvency. It is extremely regrettable that it had to come to this - especially because we were able to acquire two new major projects a few weeks ago. If we had known that we would no longer be able to use our guarantee facility with the banks for the new orders at such short notice, we would have naturally canceled all celebrations to mark the 100th anniversary of our company in June," explains Hans-Jörg Vollert, Managing Partner of Vollert Anlagenbau. "My first step will be to get an overview of the situation. Together with my team and the management of Vollert Anlagenbau, it will then be my task to examine which solutions are possible for the company in the current situation," explains lawyer Marc-Philippe Hornung from the law firm SZA Schilling, Zutt & Anschütz, who has been appointed provisional insolvency administrator by Heilbronn Local Court.
