Vollert celebrates its 100th anniversary - plant specialist for heavy loads

Vollert celebrates its 100th anniversary - and continues to shape the future. The theme for the anniversary year is 'Empowering Tomorrow'. The company is focusing on sustainable innovations and new concepts for automation.
Vollert, a traditional mechanical engineering company, develops innovative conveyor technology solutions that are specifically tailored to the requirements of modern production environments - including surface technology. Hermann Vollert made his start in 1925 with the founding of a metalworking shop and the development of vineyard ropeways in the 1930s. Building on this, the growing company developed heavy-duty ropeways for quarries, later rope hoist and shunting systems, stacker cranes and automatic cranes as well as complete intralogistics systems. Today, the focus is on automated heavy-duty intralogistics systems, emission-free transport solutions and sophisticated material flow concepts for high unit weights and demanding production processes. With growing pressure on efficiency, space utilization and sustainability, automated storage and transport systems are becoming increasingly important. Vollert implements high-bay warehouse solutions with high-performance conveyor technology for components weighing several tons, for example for paint shops. Such systems are suitable, for example, for handling coils, sheets or other large-format workpieces in the vicinity of coating, painting or heat treatment systems. Highly dynamic storage and retrieval machines with payloads of up to 30 tons allow for precise and cycle-accurate movement sequences - even in confined spaces. Another focus is on flexible shunting solutions for in-house transportation.
Sustainability determines innovation at Vollert
Sustainability and energy efficiency are key drivers for the development of new systems. Vollert is increasingly focusing on hybrid and all-electric drive technologies as well as digital control concepts for integration into higher-level production processes. The aim is to make transportation not only automated, but also resource-saving and reliable - from the provision of raw parts to the end product. With its focus on conveyor technology innovations, Vollert is strengthening its position as a partner to industry - even where robust, precise and future-proof material flows are required. "Today, as in the past, we don't know what will happen in five years' time - that's exciting. We are always open to new ideas, think beyond old patterns and at the same time are grateful for the trust our customers place in us. Because with every new challenge, we work together to develop sustainable solutions for the coming decades," says Hans-Jörg Vollert, Managing Director in the third generation of the family business, describing the range of tasks. "Automation, integral processes and digitalization are megatrends that will continue to drive the economy forward in the future, for example in the areas of mobility and transport."
