Torwegge will be presenting its innovative conveyor system, the Torwegge overhead conveyor (THB), live in action at the Logimat 2025 trade fair. The modular, ceiling-mounted system provides companies with a space-saving and flexible solution for in-house material transportation.

The Torwegge overhead conveyor (THB) can move loads of up to 300 kilograms per meter and is particularly suitable for transporting, buffering and sorting a wide variety of goods over long distances. "We are delighted to be able to present our new overhead monorail system to a broad specialist audience at Logimat. Thanks to its flexible adaptability to different requirements, it optimizes the material flow and enables even more efficient use of the available space," says Thomas Otto, Managing Director of Torwegge GmbH & Co. A highlight at the Torwegge stand at Logimat (March 11 to 13, 2025 in Stuttgart) is the live showcase, which illustrates the movement sequence of the THB in detail. Visitors will be able to see up close how pallets and containers are transported within the conveyor system. The process includes the automatic loading and unloading of pallets, transportation in the loop and the return of empty containers. "Thanks to the closed loop system, the THB improves the material flow and increases the efficiency of internal logistics processes," says Otto.

Overhead conveyor with advantages over other conveyor systems

Compared to other conveyor systems, the THB offers numerous advantages. Ceiling installation means that the floor area remains free and can be used for other activities. The modular design also makes it easy to expand or adapt the system if the material flow changes. As the interaction between the conveyed goods and the people on the floor is minimized, the risk of accidents is also reduced. "The efficient use of space makes it possible to accommodate more production equipment in the same area, which increases productivity per square meter," explains Otto. Thanks to its versatility, the system is suitable for transporting a wide variety of conveyed goods. The overhead conveyor is suitable for both manual transfer lines and automated infeed and outfeed processes for a wide variety of goods over long distances. The conveying length per motor is up to 30 meters, depending on the transport weight, and the system can achieve a total conveying length of 100 to 200 meters. "Thanks to the small number of motors, the system is particularly energy-efficient and therefore offers considerable cost benefits compared to other conveyor solutions," emphasizes Otto. The speed varies depending on the weight and is between five and 40 m/min.

Components for transport, conveying and handling technology

With a load capacity of up to 300 kg per meter, the conveyor system is characterized by a high load capacity. It also enables both horizontal and vertical curves and has an integrated RFID chip for precise tracking. Thanks to its high-quality design, it is particularly low-maintenance and quiet. It can also be used as a floor conveyor, which further increases its flexibility. The Bielefeld-based company's presence at the trade fair will be rounded off by an exhibition of various individual components from the Torwegge range. Otto explains: "It is often the smallest parts in the system that make the biggest difference. That's why we offer a wide range of components from transport, conveying and handling technology, which we combine according to the individual requirements of our customers to create efficient material flow systems." The aim is to offer customers everything from a single source. Torwegge will be exhibiting at Logimat 2025 in Hall 10, Stand 10F40.
