Torwegge presents new monorail system at the FMB

Torwegge GmbH & Co. KG is presenting its latest conveyor technology innovation at the FMB (November 5 to 7, 2024) with a new highly flexible overhead conveyor. The versatile system can transport loads of up to 300 kilograms per meter.
The new powered overhead conveyor from Torwegge is suitable for both manual push-pull lines and automated infeed and outfeed processes. "With the highly flexible overhead conveyor, we have a versatile solution in our range that offers various application options and makes logistics and production processes more efficient," explains Thomas Otto, Managing Director of Torwegge. The modular system can be easily expanded or adapted to changing requirements. With a load capacity of up to 300 kilograms per meter and speeds of up to 40 meters per minute, it is suitable for a wide range of applications - from linking assembly workstations to feeding and storage. The overhead conveyor transports, buffers and sorts a wide variety of goods - from textiles to car parts and electronics. Thanks to the ceiling installation, the floor area remains free, which saves a significant amount of space. "This flexibility makes the overhead conveyor ideal for complex and branched layouts where adaptability to existing structures is crucial," explains Otto.
The speed of the system varies depending on the weight of the goods to be transported. Conveyor lengths range up to 200 meters, depending on requirements and layout. Thanks to the integrated RFID chip technology, exact tracking is also possible. The system is also particularly quiet, easy to maintain and, depending on the circumstances, can also be used as a floor conveyor. "The overhead conveyor provides companies with an efficient, safe and flexible system that optimizes the material flow and therefore increases productivity. In addition, the minimal interaction between conveyed goods and people on the floor significantly minimizes the risk of accidents," says Otto. At stand D24 in hall 20 of the FMB mechanical engineering trade fair, the Bielefeld-based company will also be presenting its new "Manufacturing Solutions" business segment with a focus on plastic injection molding technology as well as its wide range of rollers, wheels and conveyor and handling technology.
