ZVO: Girls' Day 2025 - female surface coaters wanted

Girls' Day 2025 on April 3, 2025 is an opportunity to get girls interested in surface technology. The ZVO supports its member companies in attracting girls to the profession of surface coating apprentice.
Girls' Day gives girls practical experience in professions and fields of study in which the proportion of women is currently below 40 percent. This includes surface coating (m/f/d), where the proportion of women is only 10.7 percent. Interested schoolgirls can get a taste of the world of electroplating and surface technology on the campaign day, and the participating companies will have the opportunity to inform young people about the industry and get them excited about it. There are plenty of exciting insights to be gained on a tour of a surface technology company. The best thing is for the girls to get hands-on, coat small parts that they can take home with them, carry out experiments in the laboratory or accompany a work step in the electroplating department.
The Zentralverband Oberflächentechnik e.V. (ZVO) can provide additional support with information material on the surface coating apprenticeship (training video, job profile). A number of ZVO member companies have already had positive experiences with Girls' Day: Atotech, Moosbach & Kanne, Chrom Müller and Schlötter, for example, were or are taking part. Official registration is very easy via the Girls'Day homepage. Offers can be entered here so that girls can find them more quickly and they can be easily managed there. The registration deadline for your event can be set individually. The website also contains numerous tips and information on organizing a Girls'Day. Registration can be closed at the earliest three weeks and at the latest 24 hours before the day of the event. It is also helpful to proactively approach local schools. Detailed information and registration is available at info@girls-day.de or by telephone on 0521/106 7357. Female (Sur)Faces, the women's network of the ZVO, is also happy to help with planning: female.sur.faces@zvo.org.
