Successful comeback for the Praxisforum Industriebeschichtung: After the 10th anniversary event in 2020 had to be cancelled due to corona, the powder coating forum was duly made up for on November 17 and 18, 2022 in Wetzlar.

Markus Kopp, Chairman of the Board of the Qualitätsgemeinschaft Industriebeschichtung e.V. (QIB), was able to report a full house at the opening of the 10th Industrial Coating Practice Forum on November 17, 2022: More than 230 participants accepted the invitation to Wetzlar in Central Hesse - the event was thus completely booked out. Numerous companies from the industry were also present at the accompanying industrial exhibition. Full and highly interesting was also the top-class lecture program, which included numerous exciting topics. After the QIB review of the year, the program began with an informative look back at the relatively recent history of powder coatings, presented by Marko Büttgen with the support of powder coatings pioneer Hans Mendler.

Other presentations reflected current developments, such as a review of a quarter of a century of chrome-free passivation. For this year, the QIB had chosen to focus on energy issues, which were reflected in presentations such as "Sustainable Solutions", "Reduction of Greenhouse Gas Emissions" or a paper on dip coating and energy-efficient plant technology for heavy-duty parts. In addition, technical topics were also in the foreground, from testing and measuring technology such as coating thickness measurement or correct testing to automated chemical metering, coater qualifications in the rail industry, efficient blasting or coating calculation and new innovations in process monitoring. Marko Schmidt from Besser Lackieren magazine guided the participants through the program. Another highlight was the presentation of the "Everybody needs powder" award, with which the QIB and the initiator Matthias Bader honored the best trainees in the industry in an engaging and humorous speech. After the long Corona break, networking was also important to most of the participants, for which there was ample opportunity on the first two evenings. The next QIB Praxisforum is planned for November 16 - 17, 2023.
