Lach Diamant will be presenting its range of diamond and CBN tools and grinding wheels at GrindingHub - the international trade fair for grinding technology - in Stuttgart from May 14 to 17, 2024.

Lach Diamant, the diamond and CBN tool and grinding wheel manufacturer from Hanau, is well positioned for the "GrindingHub", both conventionally and "Future for Today". Based on 100 years of experience, Lach Diamant still recommends itself conventionally for the grinding of natural diamonds as a service for the maintenance of single dressing and profile diamonds (example also diaform diamond chisels); followed by multi-grain dressers and the high-tech dressing tile "Dia-Fliese-perfect". For profile dressing in series production, you can turn to the company for diamond precision dressing rolls and "drebojet-plus" CNC dressing wheels. For grinding hardened steels, HSS, carbides and ceramics, users can choose from diamond and boron nitride CBN grinding wheels, which are matched to the respective grinding process in all bond variants - maximum service life and cost-effectiveness are the focus of the consultation. The wide range of plastic-bonded, ceramic, electroplated and, for example, hybrid diamond and CBN grinding wheels is topped by a unique development, the metal-bonded "contour-profiled" grinding wheel for profile grinding in series production. "Contour-profiled" diamond and CBN grinding wheels make it possible to skip several complex grinding processes that were previously required. Examples include form cutting inserts (threads), roughing cutters with cord profiles, knives/slicers for the food industry, profile cutters with cocave or convex profiles, etc. - all for deep grinding.

Specially developed metal bonds and the special manufacturing process of the "contour-profiled" grinding wheels make the unique performance possible; externally visible on the "spikes" protruding from the metal bond in several layers. Depending on the diamond or CBN grit size being processed - from 15 to approx. 650 microns - the desired profile is introduced into the material to be processed with a surface quality of up to 2 µ. "Contour-profiled diamond and CBN grinding wheels work in a similar way to a grinding wheel with electroplated or bonded abrasive particles - however, contour-profiled grinding wheels guarantee multiple stability and performance of the grain bonded in the metal matrix. In addition, "contour-profiled" diamond and CBN grinding wheels can be re-profiled up to 35 times due to their multi-layer coating (these results are now also available in practice for complicated profiles). In addition, Lach Diamant has another broad program for visitors from the mould and tool making sector - starting with the diamond needle file, diamond and CBN grinding wheels for internal grinding through to lapping and polishing with diamond pastes and the unique diamond spray "MF" program - whereby the "MF" symbol stands for Micro-Finish. The grinding range is rounded off by a selection of special polycrystalline cutting tools; in this case "IC-plus" is recommended as a chip breaker for turning aluminum. For turning hardened steels, for example, the Dreborid-G-CBN indexable insert "duo-power" with double performance.
