The Copper Association is once again inviting entries for its Copper Innovation Award in 2023. This will take place as part of the Copper Symposium 2023 materials conference in November. Submissions for the sponsorship award can be accepted until September 30, 2023.

The Copper Symposium of the Copper Association will be held for the 18th time this year, this time in cooperation with the University of Jena. As part of the materials conference on November 29 and 30, a sponsorship award will again be announced, for which submissions are being accepted until September 30. The study competition is looking for innovative ideas on applications, processes, production optimization or similar, as well as concepts for application-oriented research with copper and copper alloys. Interested parties can either enter the competition individually with appropriate concepts and ideas or, in consultation with the supervising lecturer, as part of a group of students or a research group. Participants may also be nominated by universities and industry, provided they meet the above criteria. Work that dates back up to three years may also be submitted. The projects will be evaluated by an independent jury from the copper processing industry and research.

As the most important knowledge platform for the use of copper alloys, the Copper Association is committed to an intensive exchange between research and industry on all topics relating to copper and its applications as part of the "Science goes Copper" initiative. As part of this objective, awareness of the importance of the material in industry and research is also to be promoted through a study competition. The Innovation Award is endowed with 2,500 euros and is presented at the biennial Copper Symposium. The Promotion Award of the Copper Association is a study competition. Accordingly, all students, doctoral candidates and scientific employees from the fields of engineering and natural sciences from research institutes and the industrial environment are eligible to participate. Further information can be found on the website of the Copper Association.
