The Copper Association invites you to the Copper Symposium 2025, the leading materials science event on copper in the German-speaking world, on November 12 and 13 in Schwäbisch Gmünd. The program is already online and registrations are possible.

This year, the Copper Symposium is being held in cooperation with the fem Forschungsinstitut - one of the most renowned institutes for metallic materials and surface technology. The symposium offers a unique platform for professional exchange between industry, university research and application-oriented science. Over 20 high-caliber presentations will shed light on current trends and new approaches to copper and copper alloys. The focus will be on topics such as simulation and modelling, digitalization and artificial intelligence, material design, surface technology, additive manufacturing, joining and production technology as well as the circular economy.

Diverse program for the Copper Symposium 2025

In addition to the specialist presentations, the program offers an interactive poster session, an accompanying trade exhibition and a wide range of networking opportunities. A special highlight awaits participants on the first day of the event: a festive evening in the historic Lorch Monastery with a reception, guided tour of the monastery and a princely banquet in an extraordinary setting. On the second day, four thematically diverse excursions will round off the symposium program. There will be a guided tour of the fem Research Institute with insights into current research projects, a visit to Umicore Galvanotechnik GmbH, an archaeological tour in the Rotenbach Valley along the former Roman border and a tour of the historic Ott-Pauser silverware factory in the old town of Schwäbisch Gmünd. Participation in the Copper Symposium 2025 is now possible via the conference website. Those who register by August 29, 2025 will benefit from an early bird discount. The registration deadline is October 31, 2025.
