Dörken: SurfaceTechnology Germany 2024 was a complete success
As always, the experts for high-performance corrosion protection and high-quality coatings from Dörken were at SurfaceTechnology Germany 2024. The international trade fair for surface technology took place in Stuttgart from June 4 to 6, 2024.
240 exhibitors from 16 countries, 4,000 visitors from 53 nations over 3 days - these are the figures for SurfaceTechnology Germany 2024. The surface technology industry met against the backdrop of current challenges such as increasing demands on environmental protection and sustainability, scarcity of resources and rapid technological development. In line with the current market situation, Dörken brought its expertise in PFAS-free solutions with it. The ECHA's planned PFAS ban was a concern for many people who stopped by the stand. Dörken already has PFAS-free products in its portfolio, for example the hybrid topcoat Delta-Protekt TC 502 GZ. Thanks to the very narrow friction coefficient window, the silver topcoat is ideal for metric components such as screws or nuts. Dörken was also nominated for the Stuttgart surface technology prize "Die Oberfläche" with this innovation, where it came fifth.
In addition to the topic of chemical restrictions, on which many discussions were held, Dörken's expertise in the field of zinc flake coating was also in demand. Visitors to the stand were not only interested in the high-quality corrosion protection, but also in the many multifunctional properties that can be achieved with such a solution. The possible phase-out of combustion engines and e-mobility in general also provided plenty to talk about. "All in all, the trade fair was a complete success for us," summarizes René Rother, Key Account Manager Industrial Coatings. The team was pleased to have good discussions with parts manufacturers, coaters, OEMs and trading companies. "Many thanks to everyone who paid us a visit and made our good trade fair appearance possible in the first place." Christos Tselebidis, Global Executive Vice President Industrial Coatings, adds: "All our conversations at SurfaceTechnology Germany have once again shown us that we are on the right track with our strategy. We are already looking forward to next time!" The next edition of the trade fair will take place in June 2026.
