Dörken at the Fastener Fair Global 2025: PFAS-free coatings

Dörken draws a positive conclusion from its participation at the Fastener Fair Global 2025. PFAS-free coating solutions and the handling of these substances in fastening technology were particularly in demand at the Dörken stand.
This year's Fastener Fair Global once again attracted numerous trade visitors, who used the event primarily for an intensive professional exchange and for networking along the entire value chain. This is where manufacturers of screws and other fasteners, contract coaters and OEMs come together to discuss the latest developments and technologies. "We had intensive discussions with many customers and business partners about the economy, current innovations and the potential PFAS ban," says Christos Tselebidis, CEO Industrial Coatings Dörken. The discussions about the potential PFAS ban in particular took up a lot of space, as the handling of these substances in joining technology continues to be an important topic. As part of this, an event was held by the EIFI (European Industrial Fasteners Institute) on the first day of the trade fair, which dealt with the possible PFAS ban. The event was very well attended and demonstrated the industry's great interest in current developments and the status quo. "With numerous experts and speakers from different areas of the industry, the event was a complete success," said Sabrina Hilbt, Strategic Sales Manager at Dörken Coatings, who was also a speaker at the event. "A big thank you goes to the EIFI for their excellent work in bringing together everyone involved in the value chain to discuss different perspectives and solutions."
PFAS-free coating solutions in demand at Fastener Fair
In line with current market developments, the core topic at Dörken's stand was also "PFAS-free coating solutions". The coating experts from Herdecke presented their new PFAS-free product range, which consists of base and top coats and has already been successfully tested in series production. These include Dörken Seal 711 Black, Dörken Seal 711 Silver, Dörken Base 120, Dörken Base 105 and Dörken Top 500 Black. The products have the well-known Dörken quality, but are already PFAS-free, so that customers are already well prepared for the possible ban. Dörken was also able to present results from series tests and projects generated with various PFAS-free prototypes as well as initial specification entries with PFAS-free systems. "For Dörken, the Fastener Fair once again proved to be a complete success," sums up Christos Tselebidis: "The excellently organized event offered us valuable discussions with existing and new partners."
