The QuattroClean snow blasting technology from Acp Systems AG is a dry, residue-free and efficient solution for cleaning plastic components prior to painting or coating. The technology, which will be on display at Paintexpo 2022 (Hall 3, Booth 3521), uses climate-neutral carbon dioxide and compressed air as cleaning media and removes particulate as well as filmic contaminants in a process-safe manner. According to the manufacturer, the good cleaning effect is based on the special design of the wear-free two-substance ring nozzle. Compared with conventional wet-chemical cleaning, QuattroClean snow jet technology offers numerous advantages. These include significant savings in investment and operating costs as well as space requirements. Since neither water, cleaning chemicals nor drying is required, cleaning is resource-saving, energy-efficient and sustainable.
Thanks to its scalability, the system can be easily adapted to a wide range of component geometries for full-surface or partial cleaning. The systems, which are based on standard modules, can be designed for manual, partially and fully automated cleaning. For painting processes, the JetModule is a solution that can be integrated into a booth - comparable to a paint booth - to save space. Automation is by robot, linear or gantry system. Part-specific process parameters such as volume flows for carbon dioxide and compressed air, blasting time, blasting angle and movement sequence - including 3D movements - can be stored as cleaning programs in the system control. The digital controllability of the QuattroClean system also makes it possible to integrate cleaning into interlinked and digitized production environments.
