Spies Hecker Caravan Talk and Seminar

Experts from the caravanning and K&L industry accepted Spies Hecker's invitation and met for a caravanning seminar followed by an expert discussion at the Axalta Refinish Academy in Cologne.
Leading experts from the caravanning and K&L industry discussed the development of the market at a workshop meeting in early March 2023. The current development of the caravanning industry, its greatest challenges and opportunities were the focus of the discussion and were examined from different perspectives. The experts agreed that there is still a lot of room for improvement, both in terms of structural and technical conditions in the companies and with regard to expertise, training and further education and the recruitment of suitable employees. But they also pointed out initiatives, support offers and solutions. The Caravan Talk was moderated by Michael Schäfer, Strategic Sales & Key Account Manager Commercial, Axalta Coating Systems Germany.
The title of the seminar was: "Caravan repair - professional knowledge for additional business". Thirteen participants spent two days bringing their knowledge of caravan repair up to date. Some already had several years of experience with caravan repairs, for others the topic was new territory. Under the expert guidance of the two trainers David Kukies and Harald Weckmann, they devoted themselves in theory and practice to the following topics: modern digital color matching for caravans, professional substrate preparation, use of different paint drying methods, effective use of materials, and dealing with the bodywork recommendation. The two trainers were very pleased with how the seminar went. "All participants already brought a solid technical knowledge with them, were enthusiastic about the subject and were able to put the seminar contents into practice well," Harald Weckmann assessed the training. "There was a lot of passion for the subject," added his colleague David Kukies, "and that is an important prerequisite for paint stores that want to repair caravans."
