Hesse Hyperion prevents yellow discoloration of water-based lacquers and water-based stains when applied to wood surfaces such as oak and other types of wood. The discoloration is caused by the reaction of the tannic acid it contains with water and certain ingredients in the coating.

Hesse Hyperion prevents yellow discoloration on white-stained or lacquered oak surfaces and most other types of wood rich in substances. Oak wood is rich in tannic acids (tannins), which can react with water or water-based lacquers and stains. This results in chemical transformations that lead to an undesirable yellow coloration. This effect is more pronounced with pastel / white-colored and colorless water-based paints or white water-based stains in combination with water-based paints. The yellowing can gradually intensify after the coating has been applied, as the moisture contained activates the tannic acids and sets oxidation processes in motion.

Hesse Hyperion for white-stained and lacquered wood surfaces

Hesse Hyperion revolutionizes aqueous surface finishes on woods rich in ingredients such as oak and sets new standards for flawless white wood surfaces. The innovative, water-based product has been specially developed to prevent the yellow discoloration that can occur with conventional white staining. Hyperion is applied by brush or spray gun as a primer before staining or color lacquering. Thanks to its highly effective insulating layer, Hyperion reliably blocks tanning agents and thus ensures a permanently radiant white. Thanks to its unique formulation, Hyperion is compatible with both water-based and solvent-based paints. It preserves the luminosity of the white pigments and minimizes the roughening of the wood caused by water-based stains. In addition, Hyperion can also be used under colorless water-based varnishes to avoid unwanted color changes and preserve the natural beauty of the wood. Hyperion also reliably prevents the reaction with tannic acid under light or white-colored water-based paints.
