The latest surface effect from paint and stain specialist Hesse in Hamm is the Planet-Stone effect. The names of the individual shades are named after planets such as Mars, Saturn or Jupiter.

Effect coatings offer the user unimagined possibilities to add individual accents to furniture or interior design. With them, the user can give free rein to his creativity and unique surfaces with personality and character are created. The Planet-Stone effect lacquer from Hesse consists of real stone pigments and can be added as a powder to a solvent- or water-based lacquer. The mixture can then be painted with a conventional cup gun. In total, a selection of ten different colored stone powders is available The new effect palette includes light beige, various shades of brown and dark, almost black. But here, too, there are no limits to the creativity of the painter. Different color shades of the color varnish primer and variable application quantities of Planet-Stone make almost unlimited color variations possible. The paint is applied using a spray gun with a large nozzle. Alternatively, the powder can also be sprinkled by hand into the still damp basecoat.

Surfaces painted with Planet-Stone are extremely robust and much lighter than solid stone. It can also be used on plastic and many other substrates in addition to wood and wood-based materials. It is possible to paint geometries that would not be possible with stone, such as handrails on stairs or round and curved workpieces. A colorless final coating is possible, but not mandatory. It offers further variations in terms of smoothness and gloss level of Planet-Stone surfaces. Finished cured surfaces fulfill the chemical resistance according to DIN 68861-1B with the PUR basecoat. Planet-Stone also scores in terms of sustainability. The stone pigments come from slab cuttings and are put to further sustainable use. Sample surfaces of Planet-Stone can be ordered in the Hesse sample store.
