Galvanizing Prize 2025 awarded by the German Hot Dip Galvanizing Association

The Bundesverband Feuerverzinken e.V. has awarded the Galvanizing Prize for Architecture and Metal Design for the 19th time. The award recognizes the innovative use of hot-dip galvanized steel in building culture and design.
At the Hot Dip Galvanizing 2025 industry event in Munich, the German Hot Dip Galvanizing Association awarded the Galvanizing Prize for Architecture and Metal Design to outstanding projects. The award recognizes buildings, objects and products that make special use of hot-dip galvanized steel - whether for structural, design or sustainability-related reasons. The prize is awarded to architects, engineers, steel and metal fabricators, designers and metal designers who contribute to the further development of building culture with pioneering approaches. The prize was awarded for the 19th time and is endowed with a total of 15,000 euros.
The 1st prize for architecture went to the project "Historisches Konzernarchiv RWE, Essen" and the 1st prize for metal design went to the project "Burg Neu-Aspermont". "The award-winning projects show how far we can go with simple, well thought-out and innovative solutions - especially with hot-dip galvanized steel. It is more than just a structural element: it stands for durability, material honesty and technical and design potential," says Dr. Natalie Eßig, Professor at the Faculty of Architecture, Munich University of Applied Sciences and member of the jury for the 2025 Galvanizing Award. The winners were selected by a top-class jury of experts from the fields of architecture, sustainability, metal design and media.
