Fraunhofer IPM organizes industry workshop on production control

At the "Industry Workshop Production Control" at Fraunhofer IPM, participants will learn what optical measurement and testing methods can achieve in the production line. The motto for the event on September 25 and 26, 2025 is "New optical inline methods: 3D surface - coating - purity".
Many questions are addressed at the industry workshop on production control at the Fraunhofer Institute for Physical Measurement Techniques IPM: How does Fraunhofer IPM's measurement technology work? What do the solutions look like in practice and how can companies make use of this expertise? Experts from Fraunhofer IPM will be presenting measurement and testing systems - in lectures and live demonstrations. Participants can ask questions, test the systems and talk to the community. Participants are also welcome to bring their own components for testing.
As a research institute specializing in optical technologies, the institute works on innovative solutions for production control. Optical measurement systems from Fraunhofer IPM are non-contact, non-destructive and so fast that they can be used on the production line. This makes optical inspection systems an increasingly indispensable tool for quality assurance and process control. The measuring systems and imaging processes inspect surfaces and complex 3D structures during production, for example to detect even the smallest defects or minor impurities. A wide range of technologies are used for this purpose, including digital holography, infrared reflection spectroscopy or fluorescence processes, each combined with very fast hardware-related image and data processing. Each of Fraunhofer IPM's systems is tailored to the customer's specific production conditions and requirements.
