Excellent atmosphere in 14 halls and intensive discussions at full trade show booths: At Electronica 2022, the international electronics industry met again live in Munich from November 15 to 18, including suppliers from the surface technology sector.

2,144 exhibitors, 64 percent of them from abroad, presented their innovations for the entire spectrum of electronics to around 70,000 visitors from Germany and abroad in a total of 14 halls at the world's leading trade fair for electronics; the foreign share was around 54 percent. Semicon Europa was held in parallel in just under one and a half halls. A rich supporting program with conferences, forums and special events such as the CEO Roundtable picked up on the focus topics of the trade show and provided space to discuss current challenges such as the energy transition, supply chain bottlenecks, raw material shortages and skills shortages. Companies active in surface technology, for example from the fields of measuring and testing technology, electroplating and electronic coating, such as Factronix and Helmut Fischer, were also represented.

"Electronica 2022 has impressively confirmed its status as the world's leading trade fair and once again demonstrated that Munich is THE trade fair location for the international electronics industry," summed up Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer, Managing Director of Messe München. "We are very pleased that we are only about 14 percent below the record result of 2018 in terms of visitors, and that the proportion of international visitors is even higher than at previous events, at around 54 percent - an outstanding result in these times. What's more, according to the trade show survey, our exhibitors and visitors have never been as satisfied with Electronica as they were this year." According to Dr. Gunther Kegel, President of the German Electrical and Digital Manufacturers' Association (ZVEI), Electronica once again proved its importance as a leading global trade show and conference platform for the electronics industry: "The mood is positive - after four years, finally live in Munich again, the booths in the exhibition halls were well attended, many discussions were held and valuable contacts were made. This shows once again: there is no substitute for the personal meeting and direct exchange at trade fairs." The next Electronica will take place in Munich from November 12 to 15, 2024.
