Automation Dr. Nix will be presenting coating thickness gauges from the QNix series at the European Coating Show (ECS) 2025. In order to guarantee the highest measuring accuracy and product quality, the company is now in its third generation of developing and manufacturing all devices in Germany.

The QNix 9500 coating thickness gauge from Dr. Nix on show at ECS 2025 scores points with a measured value memory and provides comprehensive documentation and configurable reports thanks to integrated software. With up to 120 precise measurements per minute, it is particularly powerful. It also measures complex coating systems such as duplex coatings precisely and reliably. The QNix 5500 checks coating thicknesses quickly and easily, even with one-handed operation. With its dust and splash water protection to IP65, it is particularly suitable for use in harsh environments. The measuring head with its durable ruby protects both the paint and the device. It precisely measures up to 120 layers per minute and automatically detects substrates in the range from 0 to 5,000 micrometres. The integrated ring memory offers space for 100 measured values. The QNix 4600 works quickly and precisely with one-button operation. It offers high measurement accuracy and ease of use; no adjustment is required for standard applications. Its large 2-inch color display with flip and statistics function makes it easy to read. The QNIX 4600 is optionally available with Fe or dual probe. All devices have a fiberglass-reinforced plastic housing for additional protection against impacts. The scratch and impact-resistant displays enable clear recognition of the measured values even under difficult lighting conditions such as strong ambient light.

Dr. Nix coating thickness gauges for corrosion protection, industrial painting and contract coating

Automation Dr. Nix GmbH & Co KG, a leader in the development and manufacture of handheld devices for non-destructive coating thickness measurement on metallic surfaces since 1968, focuses on manufacturing rather than mass production. Metin Tek, Head of Sales and Marketing at Automation Dr. Nix, says: "The QNix coating thickness gauges demonstrate their strengths particularly in heavy-duty corrosion protection, industrial painting and contract coating, but they are also in demand worldwide for surface finishing and vehicle evaluation." The user-friendly and robust QNix devices enable precise measurement of protective coating thicknesses and detailed data evaluation. They support the user in optimizing the coating quality and provide complete documentation of the coating thickness, even in complex production processes or in quality assurance. The in-house developed software offers individualized process documentation and reporting options and supports compliance with norms and standards. Special attention is also paid to sustainability: the durability of the products and a comprehensive repair service for the entire product range minimize the consumption of resources. The team from Automation Dr. Nix intends to use the Nuremberg ECS trade fair for an intensive personal exchange with customers, but also to gain new trading partners for the QNix devices.
