Bruker Alicona at the AMB 2024

Bruker Alicona will be presenting its innovations and solutions for the precise measurement and quality control of cutting tools, for example for the simple roughness measurement of surfaces, at AMB (September 10 to 14, 2024 in Stuttgart) at Stand 7A18 in Hall 7.
Among the highlights that Bruker Alicona will be showcasing at AMB 2024 are the new FocusX, the innovations in the MetMaX software and the automation options around Round Tool Alignment. Introduced in early 2024, Bruker Alicona's FocusX enables the same high-precision optical 3D metrology that Bruker Alicona systems are renowned for, at an affordable package price. At the same time, it offers great ease of use. The conventional wisdom is that roughness measurements are complicated and require a lot of expertise. The "One Click Roughness" function of the FocusX., an innovative way of performing roughness measurements, proves that this does not necessarily have to be the case. With just one click, users can perform a complete roughness analysis on the surface of a tool. This not only saves time, but also minimizes the error-proneness that can occur with manual measurements.
The latest version of the MetMaX software brings numerous improvements and new functions that make measuring processes even more efficient and accurate. New features include improvements for PMI surface profile and CAD deviation. Complex shapes are analyzed with enhanced multidirectional measurements. The user achieves precise results with improved speed and user experience. MetMaX 4.0 offers a new label concept that summarizes the most important parameters of a PMI and displays them directly in the software. These labels provide a clear and concise overview and facilitate analysis and reporting. New functions such as Round Tool Alignment make it possible to carry out complex measurement tasks quickly, reliably and, above all, automatically. This reduces manual effort and increases productivity. The user interface has been further optimized to enable even more intuitive operation. Even new users can learn the software quickly and use it efficiently. Bruker Alicona's Round Tool Alignment has also been available since the software update and sets new standards in the precise measurement of shank tools such as drills and milling cutters. The operator plans the interesting measuring positions for edge rounding directly on the CAD of the tool. The next step is to clamp the drill and go for the measurement. An automated routine of the sensor recognizes the orientation of the tool and aligns it with the CAD data.
