The members of the AMA Association for Sensors and Measurement e.V. (AMA) confirmed Peter Krause (Insenso GmbH and Prignitz Mikrosystemtechnik GmbH) as Chairman of the Board of Directors at their general meeting on May 7, 2025 in Nuremberg.

Ansgar Thilmann (HCP Sense GmbH) was newly elected to the AMA Board of Directors as Secretary and Prof. Dr. Klaus Stefan Drese (Coburg University of Applied Sciences) as Assessor and Chairman of the AMA Science Council. In addition to the new additions, Christoph Kleye (SonoQ GmbH) was confirmed as Deputy Chairman and David Steinebach (TWK-Elektronik GmbH) as Treasurer. The term of office for all board members is two years. Ansgar Thilmann is one of the founders and managing directors of HCP Sense GmbH in Darmstadt. With HCP Sense, he was awarded the special prize of the AMA Innovation Award in the "Young Company" category in 2022 and is co-author of the AMA/VDI Sensor Trends 2030 study. He takes over the office of Secretary from Dr. Rolf Slatter (ITK Precision GmbH), who did not stand for re-election after several terms in office.

Prof. Dr. Klaus Stefan Drese (Coburg University of Applied Sciences and Arts) succeeds Prof. Dr. Stefan Zimmermann (Leibniz University of Hanover) as Chairman of the AMA Science Council, who will remain on the committee as Deputy Chairman. Drese has been a member of the AMA Science Council for many years and, as Chief Editor, played a key role in the development of the new Sensor Trends 2030 study. "We are grateful for the trust placed in us. Together with the new members of the Board, we will continue the AMA Association's successful course even under increasingly difficult economic conditions and will continue to connect innovators in a targeted manner," explains Peter Krause. "Sensors and measurement technology are key technologies for the major challenges of our time, whether artificial intelligence, climate-neutral cities, connected mobility or smart industrial processes. They provide the crucial data, create technological foundations and thus directly strengthen the future viability of Germany as an industrial location. With the combined expertise of our members, we are a reliable partner for industry, science and politics."
