More and more often also colorful: Increasingly, colored tones are found on wooden facades. Architects and planners combine protection with beauty and appreciate the opportunity to stand out from the crowd with an individual color design. This is what the architectural consultants Manfred Höfurthner and Ulrich Fideler from Adler Lacke experience every day in their work. In our double interview, the two experts provide insight into the latest color trends on the wood construction scene.
Manfred Höfurthner: "It's quite clear that pre-graying is still very much in vogue. The possibility of aging wooden facades uniformly and elegantly right from the start, thus saving tedious maintenance work, is a very strong argument. That's why we see mainly gray facades far and wide on modern wooden buildings."
Ulrich Fideler: "In the meantime, however, a certain saturation can be observed on the market - and at the same time, there is a growing desire to stand out from the crowd with a somewhat more colorful design. Especially if the colorfulness can be combined with a long-lasting wood protection function - as is the case with the recently released trendy shades of Lignovit Platin glaze from Adler."
Manfred Höfurthner: "The Lignovit Platinum Trend Shades with their slightly grayish undertone are a perfect blend: they provide a particularly beautiful, metallic shimmering color and, thanks to the special UV light-reflecting particles they contain, offer much better durability than conventional colored glazes."
Ulrich Fideler: "Yes, for sure. The concern about high maintenance and an artificial look is no longer justified: When developing the Lignovit Platinum trend shades, Adler placed particular emphasis on excellent weather resistance and uniform degradation when exposed to weathering. In terms of appearance, too, the sustainable building material wood is not "covered up" today, but rather its natural beauty is emphasized. Thanks to the glazing coating with Lignovit Platinum, the wood structure remains visible, and the matt surface, which sparkles slightly in the sunlight, is fully in line with the trend."
Manfred Höfurthner: "Whether strong or subtle - architects can fulfill every color wish for themselves and their clients with the Adler palette. Even shades that are considered "delicate", such as a noble blue, are on offer. The different shades can be used and combined in a very targeted manner. Why not add highlights in nazca gold to the elegant dark atacama brown? Or use warm thulite red to create a fiery contrast to cool hematite black?"
Ulrich Fideler: "Yes, definitely: Green is the color of the hour! Since we presented it for the first time at architect@work in Munich, our earthy green tones - Mojave Green and Aventurine Green - have enjoyed enormous demand. We've already turned out a number of larger projects that are now being implemented. And thanks to our climate-neutral production and the high value we place on the sustainability, user-friendliness and environmental friendliness of our coatings, we can justifiably claim: Adler provides the green paint!"
In order to bring planners closer to the incredible variety of wood facade design with the best protection, Austria's coating pioneer Adler has developed a completely new trend color palette: The popular metallic-effect glaze AdlerLignovit Platinum now comes in the most beautiful trend colors - from sunny, warm Nazca gold to fiery Thulit red and earthy Mojave green. Very brave trendsetters even reach for amazonite blue. A total of 15 fascinating color variations can be found in the new Adler trend color card for outdoor use.
