PaintExpo 2024 trade fair innovations: Many world and German premieres

A large number of world, German and trade fair premieres will inspire visitors to PaintExpo 2024. Forward-looking innovations await contract coaters, in-house painting companies and all players in the painting technology sector.

PaintExpo 2024 will once again underscore the fact that it is the global showcase for trends in all aspects of painting and the most important platform for the industry with numerous trade fair innovations from April 9-12, 2024 in Karlsruhe. The products and services presented at PaintExpo cover the entire spectrum of industrial painting. Coating solutions for all branches of industry, applications and materials are bundled together at the world's leading trade fair - whether wet painting, powder coating or coil coating. The spectrum ranges from surface treatment, paints and coating systems to final quality assurance.

"Visitors to PaintExpo this April can look forward to a wide range of future-oriented innovations. For example, exhibitors will be bringing many world and German premieres to Karlsruhe, demonstrating their innovative strength", says Project Director Mariella Riedel. "Over the four days of the trade fair, visitors will also be able to experience pragmatic solutions for increasing quality, resource-efficient production and digitalization of their manufacturing processes live."

Exciting world premieres in the spotlight

Walther Trowal is presenting the new Rotamat R 100 for coating elastomer sealing elements with bonded and decorative coatings for the first time. According to the exhibitor, the new system coats three times as many parts per batch as the previous largest system in the series. According to the company, one of the triggers for the development of the new machine was the desire of some contract coaters to process large-format flat gaskets in large quantities in the same batch.

A world premiere can be seen at the OptiSense stand: the PaintChecker Line and PaintChecker Angle laser sensors with a new design that eliminates the need for an additional housing bracket. This saves time during installation and simplifies assembly. According to OptiSense, the new generation of sensors can withstand even the harshest environments thanks to the robust industrial housing. The sensors have a diode laser as a light source, which has the advantages of semiconductor technology such as a long service life, high efficiency and absolute vibration resistance.

Fast, precise automatic spray guns and efficient system technologies

However, numerous other premieres and highlights await the trade visitors: For example, the new DUO A 22 can be discovered at the Krautzberger stand. The automatic spray gun enables very fast and precise switching times as well as a perfect spray pattern with low overspray and high material efficiency. As Krautzberger emphasizes, these advantages are achieved by the new pre- and post-air control, innovative detailed solutions, the low weight and the air nozzle system.

Heimer Lackieranlagen und Industrielufttechnik, on the other hand, will be presenting even more efficient and resource-saving system technology. The exhibitor reports that the advanced combustion chambers achieve firing efficiencies of more than 93 percent. According to Heimer, the latest results in heat recovery in the area of supply and exhaust air technology for paint booths with rotary heat exchangers and heat recovery rates of over 70 percent represent a significant increase in efficiency.

Save energy and process costs with new paints

PaintExpo 2024 will also focus on many new developments in the field of coating manufacturers: For example, the requirements for industrial coatings in terms of resistance and appearance in the mechanical and plant engineering and drive and conveyor technology sectors have increased significantly. At the same time, the economic aspects of these coating materials continue to apply - work-saving coating quality and short drying times. Geholit + Wiemer has therefore launched the new single-layer 2K PUR textured coating Wieregen-D133S-Struktur, which guarantees reliable protection and an outstanding appearance thanks to its high chemical and scratch resistance with a uniform texture. As the lacquer adheres to different substrates and is applied in a single operation, energy and process costs are saved, explains Geholit + Wiemer.

At the FreiLacke stand, visitors can find out about an improved paint formulation for agricultural machinery, among other things. The paint manufacturer has redesigned an UltraHighSolid system for agricultural machinery and has thus been able to significantly reduce emissions. In addition, the paint structure has also been optimized and is ideally suited for industrial goods and construction machinery of all kinds. Both components - primer and topcoat - contain solvents and are based on polyurethane / isocyanate-crosslinking polyacrylate resin as a binder. According to the company, the solvent-based primer offers high corrosion protection and good adhesion to various substrates, including steel - also blasted or iron-phosphated - and stainless steel.

International exhibitors represented with numerous innovations

PaintExpo also has a lot to offer internationally this year - the proportion of international exhibitors is currently over 40 percent. Ecoline is one of them: At the world's leading trade fair, the Polish company will be providing information about a new robot-controlled powder coating system that utilizes a number of patented solutions and modern technologies. These include, for example, a modular robotic powder coating booth which, according to the exhibitor, guarantees rapid powder removal thanks to the sandwich-like layer wall structure. The absorption system consists of a connecting channel and a cyclone with very high efficiency.

Swiss exhibitor Coatmaster is presenting the next generation of the Coatmaster Flex, a mobile solution for non-contact coating thickness measurement. The new feature is the accelerated measuring speed. More than ten measurements can now be completed in less than 20 seconds. According to the company, the measuring range and the accuracy of the measurements - both in the upper and lower coating thickness range - have also been significantly optimized. But that's not all: users also benefit from the fact that the improvements have been made entirely in the cloud, meaning that no manual intervention is required on the device.

Ticket store open, new online exhibitor and product directory

Trade visitors can now purchase admission tickets for the trade fair in the online ticket store on the PaintExpo website. The exhibitor and product directory, in which visitors can research company and product information before, during and after PaintExpo, is also online on the website.

In addition, an innovation awaits trade fair participants: special interest topics will be introduced during this year's PaintExpo. The new offer includes the focal points of sustainability, careers and exhibitor campaigns and enables exhibiting companies to present their thematically appropriate offers in the exhibitor and product directory in the run-up to the trade fair. With the help of the digital supplement, visitors to PaintExpo in Karlsruhe can make targeted discoveries relating to these focal points. (OM-2/24)
