GrindTec 2023 Trade Fair Special

From March 7 to 10, 2023, the industrial trade fairs Intec, Z and GrindTec invite you to the first important industry meeting point of the year for manufacturing technology in the metalworking, subcontracting and tooling industries in Europe.

The international trade fair association of the industrial trade fairs GrindTech, Intec and Z covers the entire value chain of metalworking in the halls of Leipziger Messe on the four days of the trade fair. The exhibitors - which include numerous renowned market leaders from Germany and abroad - present their high-performance product innovations at the trade fair trio. In addition, the practice-oriented technical program sets forward-looking impulses and promotes the transfer of knowledge on the top topics of the industry.

Trade show trio as optimal platform

"Finally, Intec and Z are back in the exhibition halls: We are very pleased that after the pandemic-related break, our industrial trade fairs can take off again. An attractive and extensive range of trade fairs awaits the visitors. In addition, the GrindTec will enrich the trade fair network for the first time - with its focus on tool machining and tool grinding, it fits in perfectly with the Intec and Z. In March 2023, our trio of international trade fairs will become the center of attraction for the metalworking industry as well as the supplier and tool industries," says Markus Geisenberger, Managing Director of Leipziger Messe.

Especially now, it is important for exhibitors and visitors that industrial trade fairs such as Intec, Z and GrindTec take place again, Markus Geisenberger emphasizes: "Exhibitors and visitors make it clear that they urgently need the exchange at our international trade fairs. At last, exhibitors can once again present the innovations and solutions they have developed live. In addition, the industry is concerned with maintaining and readjusting supply chains, countering cost increases and becoming more resilient. Our trade show trio is the optimal platform to intensively exchange ideas on these topics and drive projects forward."

User meeting for tool machining and tool grinding

"Within the framework of the GrindTec 2023 in Leipzig, the exhibitors will present new solutions for tool machining and tool grinding, while the requirement profile of the precision tool mechanics industry will be represented. This year's focus is on grinding machines, tool machining systems, their automation, as well as abrasives," says Prof. Dr. Wilfried Saxler, Managing Director of the professional sponsor of the GrindTec, FDPW. He describes a trend that will shape future processes in the industry's industrial and craft businesses as follows: "We must and will deal intensively with adaptive structures that focus on the interaction of man and machine with artificial intelligence. At the GrindTec, examples will be conveyed of how the complex system of requirement, measurement data, machine and workpiece to be machined can be smoothly organized through novel control and software concepts. Visitors can look forward to new technologies that organize work processes more efficiently, faster and less prone to errors." He also considers laser technology to be very relevant to the industry. "It is increasingly being used to machine hard as well as high-hardness cutting materials and is constantly working better and more precisely." Visitors can also look forward to innovations in the areas of measuring and clamping technology as well as peripheral systems.

Exhibitors' product innovations and further developments in focus

At the GrindTec, Bruker Alicona, among others, will present a novelty: Components can be measured area-based and with high resolution with the new 3D measuring instrument InfiniteFocusG6, independent of size, material, geometry, weight and surface finish. Heinz Berger Maschinenfabrik is debuting the new generation of its RFS/RT/NT peripheral grinding machine. According to the exhibitor, the grinding machine achieves surface and/or chamfer grinding on circular knives, saw blades and circular blanks using the pendulum or plunge-cut method. Due to an additional grinding axis, follow-on grinds can be processed in one clamping - so the surface of the workpiece can be ground flat and a bevel can be machined onto the cutting edge in one work cycle, the company reports.

Practice-oriented technical program enriches the exhibition offering

The practice-oriented technical program is also an important part of the trade show trio and helps to find answers to questions about the transformation of the industry. The special shows and specialist forums "Additive Manufacturing - Evolution of a Modern Technology", "Sensor Technology - Application and Perspectives in Manufacturing" and "Fuel Cell Hub - Value Creation through Hydrogen" highlight future topics of the industry. Both the international cooperation forum "Welcome to Saxony!" and the Contact Business Meetings are all about establishing business contacts across national borders. In addition, the entrepreneurial transformation successes of medium-sized world market leaders will be presented at the Industry's Hidden Champions Conference as part of the trade fair network.

At the GrindTec, visitors can expect a specialist program which, with various theme worlds, reflects the many facets of tool machining. The GrindTec Forum, for example, offers specialist lectures on highly topical subjects in the industry. In addition, scientific institutions of the industry will present the latest state of research and development at the GrindTec Campus. The Toolgrinder Challenge 2023 competition will be looking for the best precision tool mechanic of the year - and the GrindTec Innovation Award will honor innovative, high-performance and sustainable products, processes and services.
