Vehicle painter

The vehicle painter is a recognized apprenticeship in the field of painting and surface technology. The main tasks include the preparation, coating and repair of vehicle surfaces. Painting is not only used for visual design, but above all to protect against corrosion, weathering and mechanical stress.

Before the paint is applied, the body and component surfaces are carefully cleaned, sanded, filled and primed. Vehicle painters then apply fillers, base coats and clear coat systems using modern application methods. These include water-based paints, effect paints and special protection and repair systems. Precise color matching and exact surface quality play an important role here.

Another focus is on repair and accident damage painting. Here, damaged surfaces are repaired and existing coatings are repaired as invisibly as possible. Plastic components, wheel rims or add-on parts can also be coated and refined.

Today, vehicle painting is strongly influenced by modern surface technology processes. Energy-efficient paint booths, low-emission coating systems and resource-saving processes are becoming increasingly important. The profession thus combines precision craftsmanship with modern painting technology and industrial coating processes.
