Iron phosphating

Iron phosphating is a process for the surface treatment of metal parts that aims to protect the surface by forming a thin layer of phosphate and preparing it for subsequent coating processes. This process is mainly used on iron and steel materials to improve their corrosion resistance and increase the adhesion of paints, varnishes or other coatings.

During the phosphating process, the metal to be treated is immersed in an acidic phosphate solution or sprayed with a phosphate solution.
