Electron beam hardening
Electron beam curing is a modern process for curing coating materials, which is used particularly at normal temperatures. In this process, electrons are brought to high speeds in an accelerator and directed onto the coating surface. The energy of the electron beam triggers a polymerization reaction that causes the coating to cure completely within a few seconds without the need for additional heat.
This process is ideal for temperature-sensitive materials such as plastic or wood, as it does not require heating. In addition, curing takes place in a very short time, which increases the efficiency of the process. The absence of solvents and additional chemicals reduces the environmental impact. The precise control of the electron beam enables even complex shapes and geometries to be cured evenly.
