Dense phase technology
Dense phase technology plays a central role in the transportation of powder coatings in industrial applications. Powder coatings are fine, powdery coating materials that usually consist of synthetic resins, pigments and additives. Their sensitive and sometimes abrasive behavior requires gentle conveying technology in order to guarantee the quality of the material and protect the system components.
In dense phase technology, the powder coating is conveyed through pipelines at low speed and high material density. The material is often transported in the form of material plugs or dense layers that are moved by compressed air. This technique minimizes friction and abrasion, which preserves both the particle size and the chemical properties of the powder coating. At the same time, slow transportation reduces the formation of dust, which not only reduces the environmental impact but also increases occupational safety in production facilities.
Another advantage of dense phase conveying is its energy efficiency, as less air volume is required than with alternative conveying methods. This makes it a preferred choice in the powder coating industry, where precise and gentle material handling is essential to achieve high-quality surface coatings.
