Coating defects

Coating defects are defects in a coating film that are visible but do not necessarily impair the functionality of the coating. Such defects are often caused by improper painting. Causes can include inadequate substrate preparation, incorrect application techniques or unsuitable ambient conditions during application.

Visible paint defects can include blistering, flaking, uneven paint coverage or runs and drips. Although these defects affect the aesthetic appearance, they do not necessarily have a negative impact on the protective function of the coating. Careful planning and execution can help to avoid such defects and ensure the quality of the coating.
