Quality Association for Industrial Coating (QIB)
The QIB Qualitätsgemeinschaft Industriebeschichtung e.V. is a voluntary association of quality-conscious industrial coaters. The member companies guarantee their consistent quality standards by complying with and documenting the specifications of the QIB regulations.
The QIB is a quality association for the industrial coating of the materials aluminium, steel and galvanized steel with powder coating and/or cathodic dip coating as well as with liquid coating. In order for a company to be awarded a quality mark, certain criteria from the regulations must be fulfilled. These quality regulations describe all self-monitoring measures in a company's own laboratory and are divided into stress groups. The stress groups are based on the corrosivity categories of ISO 12944. The QIB quality mark ensures high quality standards and serves as a guide for customers. Once a year, an independent testing institute inspects the company and its quality processes in accordance with the QIB quality regulations. Samples for the laboratory test are taken for laboratory testing at the testing institute.
