The Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) is a federal government departmental research institute dedicated to occupational safety and health as well as humane work design. At three locations in Dortmund, Berlin and Dresden, almost 750 employees work at the interface between science, politics and practice. They carry out tasks in research and development, policy advice, legal and sovereign tasks and the transfer into operational practice.
