The manufacturer of adhesives and sealants Weicon has developed a special concentrate for removing rust and corrosion - Weicon rust remover liquid. It removes rust from sheet metal and steel structures and metal parts down to the bare metal.

The highly concentrated immersion bath can be used on sheet metal and steel structures as well as various metal parts and removes rust from the surface down to the bare metal. The use of liquid rust remover does not require any special equipment or tools. The immersion bath, which is based on an aqueous solution, is diluted with water for standard applications. The parts to be derusted can be placed directly in the bath. The rust removal concentrate is also suitable for ultrasonic baths and can be reused several times. The special immersion bath is suitable for industrial areas where rust and corrosion need to be removed. For example, it can be used to remove rust from the inside of fuel tanks.

Uncomplicated application of the rust remover

The rust remover concentrate is diluted with water in a mixing ratio of 1:10 (1 part concentrate, 10 parts water). If the water is heated to approx. +60 °C before use, the rust removal time is significantly reduced. An immersion heater, for example, can be used to keep the mixed liquid at the right temperature. Depending on the degree of corrosion, the concentrate can also be used less diluted or directly undiluted. The mixed liquid can be used several times. The application time depends heavily on the degree of corrosion. In the case of flash rust, a few minutes are sufficient; in the case of very advanced corrosion, rust removal can take several hours. After rust removal, the treated parts should be rinsed with water, dried and, if possible, coated directly.
