The new subsidiary, Vulkan Inox USA LLC, based in New Castle, Indiana, will take over the sales activities previously handled by Vulkan Blast Shot Technology in Canada, effective January 2027. Joan Sharp is passing the baton to David Maddy, who will become the managing director of the new company.

Vulkan Inox is realigning its sales activities in the U.S. and Canada: Starting in January 2027, the business units previously managed by Vulkan Blast Shot Technology will be consolidated into the new subsidiary, Vulkan Inox USA LLC, headquartered in New Castle, Indiana. As part of this reorganization, operations at the Canadian location will be discontinued. The Canadian market will also be served by the new U.S. subsidiary in the future. With its central location, New Castle offers a good base for serving both markets. At the new location, Vulkan Inox is strengthening its sales activities and, with expanded warehouse capacity, laying the groundwork for its planned expansion. Customers will be informed directly about the transition and the details relevant to them. “North America is one of our strongest sales regions worldwide. With the new company in New Castle, we are laying a solid foundation for further expanding our business in the U.S. and Canada. In doing so, we intend to build on our long-standing customer relationships and the experience of our team,” explains Marc Hidde, CEO of the Vulkan Inox Group.

David Maddy Takes Over as CEO of Vulkan Inox USA

David Maddy will take over as CEO of the new company, Vulkan Inox USA LLC. He brings with him nearly three decades of experience in surface technology, including ten years in the field of powder coatings and powder coating applications and twenty years in the sales of metallic shot blasting media. His career in blasting technology began at Vulkan Inox in the 2000s. Most recently, he was responsible for the shot peening business of a supplier in North America. Together with Joan Sharp and the team at Vulkan Blast Shot Technology, Maddy is preparing the transition to the new company. “I look forward to continuing to run Vulkan Inox’s business in the U.S. and Canada together with the team and driving expansion forward. In the coming months, our focus will be on ensuring a well-prepared transition. This includes providing our customers with detailed information and maintaining personal communication with them,” says David Maddy.

Joan Sharp Steps Down After More Than Three Decades

Joan Sharp, Managing Director of Vulkan Blast Shot Technology, will take her well-deserved retirement at the end of March 2027. She has been with the company since 1992. Over the past 22 years, she has successfully led the business in the U.S. and Canada as Managing Director. Under her leadership and with the valuable support of the team, North America has developed into one of Vulkan Inox’s strongest sales regions worldwide. “Joan Sharp has had a decisive influence on our business in the U.S. and Canada for decades. With her great dedication, experience, and intuition for our customers’ needs, she and her team have contributed significantly to Vulkan Inox’s success in North America. I would like to thank her sincerely for this—also on behalf of the entire company. We wish her all the best for this new chapter in her life and hope she has plenty of time for the things that are personally close to her heart,” says Marc Hidde.
