VOA with new laboratory workshop for coaters

From June 30 to July 1, 2026, VOA member companies and interested participants will have the opportunity to take an in-depth look at the coating process and the extensive laboratory and measurement technology. The practice-oriented event is aimed at employees in the laboratory as well as in production, quality assurance, but also in occupational safety and all those interested in the company. The event is being held in cooperation with the Fem Research Institute in Schwäbisch Gmünd. In addition to the introductory intensive insight into pre-treatment - from the basics to practical in-depth knowledge - the program of the laboratory workshop also includes two lectures on coating and subsequent curing with basic knowledge about powder coatings and powder coating systems.

Coating process and laboratory and measurement technology

A maximum of 24 people can take part in the workshop, who will work together in three small groups on the individual work steps in practice: surface preparation, coating and curing as well as quality control and damage analysis. The participants will gain basic knowledge of the necessary laboratory tests and carry out the individual useful measurements in practice under professional guidance. The agenda also includes other forward-looking topics such as the effects of recycled aluminium on coating quality and current developments and challenges relating to the international Qualicoat quality mark, of which the VOA is the general licensee in Germany. In order to make the laboratory workshop practical and participant-oriented, participants can submit their own questions, problems, error patterns or samples from their company or knowledge environment in advance. These will be prepared accordingly and generally discussed and analyzed during the workshop in order to provide professional solutions and valuable impulses for operational practice.
