The European Association for Surface Treatment on Aluminium (ESTAL) is actively involved in planning the ESTAL Congress from October 1 to 3, 2025 in Thessaloniki.

As the largest member of the European umbrella organization ESTAL, the VOA can score points with its extensive experience, as in 2009 the association organized the congress of the international quality mark Qualicoat together with the biennial European ESTAL Congress in Munich, which was a great success at the time. Under the motto "Treatment of aluminum - innovations, trends, practices in a changing world", ESTAL, together with the VOA and other members, once again underscored its important role as the pacemaker of the surface finishing industry in Europe. When participants from all over the world travel to the ESTAL Congress in Thessaloniki, Greece - ESTAL is expecting more than 150 participants - they will encounter a wealth of expertise and innovative future topics; a special opportunity for participants to look beyond the horizon. This is where experts from the surface finishing industry and from the extensive industry network who serve and shape global supply chains in a sustainable manner will come together. Together, the aim is to provide impetus to overcome challenges and seize opportunities - for a networked, sustainable and successful future.

ESTAL Congress 2025 with a focus on the surface finishing industry

The organizer is focusing the program on the topics that affect the European surface finishing industry, influenced by current decisions of the EU Commission: European competitiveness in the global trade context and market trends with an impact on the industry are on the agenda at the beginning. In addition, the topic of sustainability will play a major role at this year's ESTAL Congress: participants will take an in-depth look at EU legislation on industrial emissions, decarbonization, sustainable chemicals and their impact on the surface finishing industry, as well as the possible reduction of energy and water consumption, greenhouse gas and other emissions into the air and water. Finally, the speakers will focus on forward-looking topics, such as artificial intelligence in the surface treatment of aluminum and innovations with regard to products, processes and testing methods. All in all, an exciting program with professional speakers who will also contribute their expertise from day-to-day practice and help to further improve quality and sustainability in the industry at European level. The ESTAL Congress thus offers the ideal opportunity to gain valuable insights into the latest developments, technologies and trends in the surface treatment of aluminum, to exchange technical information with colleagues across national borders and to jointly develop innovative solutions for the future in your own company.
