Dr. Christof Walter has been appointed Managing Director of the Association of the German Paint and Printing Ink Industry (VdL) as of 1 January 2024. At the same time, he will also take on the role of deputy to Managing Director Dr. Martin Kanert.

Dr. Christof Walter, Head of Technology at VdL, has been appointed Managing Director with effect from 1 January 2024. At the same time, he will take on the role of deputy to Managing Director Dr. Martin Kanert. Walter began his work at the German Paint and Printing Ink Industry Association in 2016 as a Technical Officer. Since 2021, the doctor of chemistry has been responsible for coordinating the often complex technical topics in addition to the main areas of work in the field of industrial coatings, biocides and food contact materials.

Walter was born in Bamberg in 1986. After leaving school and completing his civilian service, he studied chemistry in Würzburg in conjunction with a short research stay in Paris. He completed his studies with a doctorate in theoretical chemistry. "We are delighted that Dr. Walter is strengthening the management of the association. His specialist knowledge and his far above-average commitment to the paint industry in recent years have recommended him for this responsible position," commented Managing Director Martin Kanert on the promotion.
