The 14th Doctoral Seminar of the Department of Electrochemistry and Galvanotechnology (ECG) took place from April 4 to 5, 2025 at the TU Ilmenau. The varied program offered exciting insights into current topics in electrochemical research and promoted scientific exchange.

A special highlight of the doctoral seminar of the Department of Electrochemistry and Electroplating was the guest lecture by Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Lothar Spieß on quantitative energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence analysis with a focus on the limits of coating thickness determination. Lukas Grohmann reported on his industrial doctorate and gave interesting insights into his career path. Marius Engler presented his research on all-ion redox flow batteries. Mathias Fritz spoke about galvanic platinum deposition on silicon, while Christian Höß highlighted the challenges of coating complex 3D structures. Dr. Anna Endrikat gave personal insights into her path to her doctorate.

A guided tour of the Center of Micro- and Nanotechnologies ZMN at TU Ilmenau with Dr. Arne Albrecht rounded off the program. Ten participants used the seminar for intensive exchange, professional networking and new impulses. The next doctoral seminar will take place in Regensburg in October of this year.
